Skydive Virginia provides various aircraft at various times during the
year for our clientele. Our flagship is a Beechcraft King Air B90 jet turbo prop
that carries 14 jumpers. We also fly a Cessna 182, the standard work horse of the skydiving industry.
King Air - N394AL
Our Beechcraft King Air B90 made
its debut as a skydiving platform in 1998, at Skydive Virginia. Before that,
it was maintained as a Part 135 operations aircraft
meaning its maintainance has been and continues to be strictly standards-compliant. It has been modified
for jumpcraft operations: external floater
bar and huge external step. It's a pretty tight fast climbing jumpship, so
come and check it out.
Cessna 182 - N7105E
N7105E is a quick climbing, high tail model, with STOL mods and a
specially fit, high density foam floor outfitted with the normal 4 FAA
certified jumper seatbelts in addition to the pilots seatbelt.
Currently, it is aluminum finished (you should have seen the ugly green
it was before we removed it in the winter of 1995), but we are looking
into different color schemes for it.
Visiting Aircraft
In the past we have used aircraft at various boogies (skydiving conventions)
that we have hosted. Since we have the connections, we were able to bring
in extra aircraft during boogies that were higher load than we originally
thought it would be (as per our $65/day jump as much as you like boogie).
The aircraft which have used at Skydive Virginia for some of great skydiving
boogies are:
The Super Casa (30+ people) and a
regular casa (23 people). The one
shown is a regular casa.
Twin Otter (22 people)...
